ABOUT ME
Kizito Enock

WHERE I COME FROM
I come from Uganda, a beautiful but deeply troubled nation in East Africa. I was born in Kasana, Luweero, and raised in Kampala, the capital city. I am a Muganda by tribe, rooted in a rich cultural heritage, yet shaped by the harsh realities of life in a country plagued by judicial impunity, rampant injustices, abductions, and widespread human rights violations. Growing up, I witnessed the deep cracks in our justice system and the suffering of many whose voices were silenced. These experiences ignited a fire in me a commitment to become a human rights advocate, not just for myself, but for countless Ugandans who are unaware of their rights or too afraid to claim them. I chose this path to empower my fellow citizens to rise, speak out, and fight back against oppression with knowledge, courage, and hope.
A THRIVING CAREER
My career in human rights advocacy has evolved through years of dedicated service, resilience, and unwavering passion for justice. From the early days of volunteering with organisations like the Uganda Human Rights Commission (UHRC), ACTV, and the Legal Aid Project (LAP), I grew into roles of leadership and responsibility within the Uganda Law Society (ULS). As Head of Protocol and Clerk to the Executive Council, I was entrusted with sensitive work under the High Profile Case Unit (HPCU), which sharpened my skills in advocacy, legal aid, and defending vulnerable communities.
However, the very nature of this work also attracted grave security threats. In April 2025, I made the difficult but necessary decision to resign from my roles at the Uganda Law Society and seek safety in exile. This turning point underscored the risks faced by human rights defenders in Uganda, yet it also reaffirmed my conviction that the struggle for justice must continue no matter the cost.
Today, while living in exile, I remain deeply committed to advancing human rights, civic education, and legal empowerment. My advocacy extends beyond borders, informed by lived experience of both defending justice within repressive systems and surviving the backlash that comes with it. As I continue furthering my education, I aspire to become a transformative leader in the global human rights movement one who bridges legal frameworks with the lived realities of ordinary people. Education and advocacy remain, for me, inseparable tools to resist injustice, amplify silenced voices, and contribute to a more just and equitable world.
MISSION STATEMENT
Equality Meets Opportunity
Our mission is to break down the systemic barriers that hinder access to justice, education, and economic empowerment. We believe that true equality is achieved when every individual regardless of background, identity, or circumstance is given the opportunity to thrive.
Guided by principles of dignity, inclusion, and human rights, we are committed to creating spaces where marginalized voices are heard, supported, and uplifted. Through legal empowerment, civic education, and community-driven advocacy, we strive to ensure that opportunity is not a privilege for the few, but a right for all.
